Meta-Forms is a multimedia exhibition featuring the work of the 21 artists who were awarded Computer Arts Fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts in 2001. Included are prints, photography, and painting created using digital means, as well as film and video, installation art, CD-ROM works and internet based art. The works explore the use of computer technology in the arts, utilizing the computer as a tool, as a medium, or as an exhibition space.

"Real Virtual Empathy" with lecturer Timothy Binkley

Timothy Binkley, founder of one of the first academic departments for Computer
Art in 1982 at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and founder of the
New York Digital Salon, will discuss technology's ever-expanding role in today's
society.

Artist Karen Ostrom will lead the audience on a virtual tour of her Internet

A networking opportunity for individual artists in the region designed to explore
the services provided by NYFA and other local arts organizations, and to discuss

so that participants may view the collection, and refreshments will be served

This media screening will include the works of Ken Jacobs, Theresa Duncan, and
Ariana Gerstein. Following the screening, Ms. Gerstein will discuss her work.
