The intermedia performance "White Noise" investigates perceptions of time and movement as found within the scientific laboratory of life. The piece examines sound as a measure of the passage of time, as a frequency band, and as a shapeless constant. "White Noise" is the buzzing sound of an off-air signal or a fluorescent light fixture. It's a neutral environment where silence awaits sound. It's a place where light awaits form and color. In this piece we seek those luminous moments that appear suddenly, if fleetingly, out of all the "white noise" that envelops us, but that nonetheless occasionally restores feelings of connectedness.
