Tish Benson is a 2001 Franklin Furnace Grant Recipient; A 1996 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship Recipient in play writing and winner of Nuyorican's 1994 Grand Slam Championship. Her verses have been installed at The Aldrich Museum in an exhibition entitled "NO DOUBT." She has been published in: When Butterflies Kiss, Perfect 10 Writing and Producing the 10 minute Play, Listen Up, In The Tradition: An Anthology of Young Black Writers , Long Shot Magazine, Verses that Hurt: Pleasure and Pain from the Poemfone Poets. She has performed throughout the United States and abroad. A 1999 MFA graduate from NYU in Dramatic Writing , Tish Benson's most recent work includes a teleplay aired on LIFETIME in May 2001 and a collaborative performance piece entitled Church of the Living Womb where she is Sistah Pastor Preacha Prayer Prophesyin Poetry.
